In his first game following an injury, Chet Holmgren reminds NBA fans of his game-changing two-way ability.

As the once-touted talent started his comeback from a Lisfranc injury that cost him his rookie season, Thunder forward Chet Holmgren gave NBA fans an official reintroduction to his game on Monday.

The terrible foot injury Holmgren suffered while defending LeBron James in a Seattle pro-am game last August has kept him out of action for the past year. Holmgren is currently rehabilitating and is projected to go No. 2 in the 2022 NBA Draft. On the opening day of the NBA summer league, Holmgren played in his first game since the injury and made the most of the chance to remind basketball fans of his enticing two-way ability.

The Thunder's 7-foot-1 big man started the summer league game against the Jazz and put forth a solid performance despite some rust. Holmgren led his team to a 95-85 victory in 29 minutes of play with 15 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the field, nine rebounds, four blocks, and two assists.

With a nasty two-handed block late in the game, Holmgren demonstrated his game-changing defensive ability, much like he did during his successful high school and NCAA careers at Gonzaga.

Without a doubt, Holmgren's performance gave the 21-year-old a great start to his delayed debut season and a potential debut of the Year campaign in 2023–24. Given the excitement surrounding this year's rookie class, which is headlined by another unicorn in Victor Wembanyama, the second-year forward will undoubtedly have some tough competition for the prize and standing out in general.
