# Matheus Nunes: Wolves midfielder to be fined after missing training
Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes is set to be fined by the club after he missed training on Thursday.
The Portugal international failed to report for training and has been given permission to return to his home country for personal reasons.
However, Wolves have made it clear Nunes will face "internal disciplinary action" for his unauthorised absence.
The 23-year-old joined Wolves from Sporting Lisbon for an initial £38m in July.
He has made 11 appearances for the Premier League club this season, scoring one goal.
A Wolves statement said: "Matheus Nunes was due to report for training on Thursday but failed to attend.
"The club is extremely disappointed with this action and has now activated internal disciplinary procedures, which will now follow."
The statement added that Nunes had been given permission to return to Portugal "to deal with a personal issue", but reiterated he would still face disciplinary action.
Wolves spent a club record fee to sign Nunes from Sporting in the summer and the midfielder has been an important player for manager Bruno Lage's side this season.
His absence will come as a blow to Wolves, who face struggling Leicester City on Sunday.
Wolves are currently 14th in the Premier League table after winning just two of their opening 12 games.
